Who Can Apply?
We welcome applications from all individuals and groups including those that are run by schools, those that are based in the community, those who work with dancers who identify as D/disabled and D/deaf, those from private dance school settings and those working independently.
We encourage individuals and groups who create dance pieces in all genres, such as hip hop/street dance styles, jazz and theatre styles, ballet, South Asian dance, contemporary dance, dance of the African Diaspora, folk dance, you name it: HOSTED and U.Dance is for everyone!
HOSTED is for dancers aged 11 to 19 years, and up to and including 25 years for dancers with disabilities or long-term health conditions.
There is a small Access Support Costs fund available for groups with dancers who identify as D/disabled or D/deaf selected to attend HOSTED. For more information on this please contact Sarah by email: sarah.kearney@southeastdance.org.uk or telephone: 07483 098854
To be eligible for a place at HOSTED and U.Dance South East Regional Platform 2024 you will need to:
Only include dancers who are aged 11 to 19 years, or up to and including age 25 for disabled dancers or those living with long-term health conditions, on 31 July 2024.
Submit a dance piece which is between 2 and 5 minutes in duration.
U.Dance South East Regional Platform groups must be based in the south east region and involve dancers who live in the south east region including: Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, East Sussex, Kent, Oxfordshire, Surrey and West Sussex.
HOSTED groups who do not want to be in the U.Dance South East Regional Platform must be based in East Sussex or West Sussex.
Have a maximum of 20 dancers in your group.
Submit a dance piece that has not been extensively showcased. The panel are looking for recent pieces that have either not been performed/screened before or have only been shown a few times.
Return the completed application form, monitoring form and URL link to your dance film by the deadline date: 12noon, Friday 1 December 2024.
Submit a video of your dance piece via a URL link.
Please note: This must be a URL link that is available to view online, NOT a downloadable file.
Please submit a finished version of your piece, or as close to being completed as possible.
Pieces that are a work in progress may be submitted.
Ensure all the dancers in your group are available to attend HOSTED at The Old Market in Brighton & Hove all day and evening on Sunday 24 March 2024.
U.Dance South East Regional Platform groups: Ensure your dancers are available to attend the U.Dance National Festival 12-14 July 2024 in Liverpool if selected.
