Qigong
Pronounced cheegong, the traditional Chinese practice of Qigong cultivates the body, the breath, and the mind to maximise health and wellbeing.
This class will teach the immensely popular Eight Pieces of Brocade (baduanjin) qigong form. It has 8 movements and practised regularly will build strength, balance, mobility, whole-body integrated movement, deep and slow breathing, and mental calm. We will also be practising some movements from the much older five animal frolics - the crane, tiger, bear, deer and monkey.
Qigong can be practiced by people of all ages, whether they want to improve their dance, sport, or martial arts skills, promote their health and prevent disease, or find relief from a wide range of physical and emotional problems.
This class is open to complete beginners as well as experienced practitioners.
Peter Deadman co-founded Infinity Foods. He is an internationally known teacher, practitioner, and author on Chinese medicine and health cultivation, and has practiced and taught qigong for over thirty years

"This is lifelong learning and enrichment, thank you!" Karyn
"Incredible explanations and very easy to follow and learn" Caroline
"Peter’s courses are such in depth, high quality sessions. I am grateful for more understanding of the body positional factors. He is very inspiring and his personal dedication shines through" Jamie
"Such a wonderful course. It is clear that you have a deep and lifelong understanding of QiGong and you present it in such a detailed and humble way. I've taken a few Qigong courses recently and the egos of the teachers seemed to get in the way of the teaching. You LOVE what you do and simply want to share it with the world. I am very grateful. Your detailed analysis has gone very far for a yin type gal to feel confident enough to share very beginning teachings with students" Corinne
Please note there will be no class on 2 July
