Beginners Contemporary

This release-based contemporary class will start with an easy warm-up followed by an engaging series of exercises to increase body awareness and articulation, strength, coordination, and different movement qualities used in contemporary dance. The class will build towards longer movement phrases each week, developing your stamina and dance vocabulary, but most importantly, enjoying dancing.

Recommended for beginners and those with less than two years of contemporary dance experience.

Led by professional dancer, capoeira teacher, and choreographer Aneta Zwierzynska, who holds a double MA degree from Anton Bruckner University in Austria. With extensive training and work experience across Brazil, Poland, Austria, Greece, and the UK, Aneta teaches her unique blend of contemporary dance and capoeira in various locations worldwide, including Rambert, The Place, and Pineapple Dance Studios. Notably, she served as the main choreographer for the 2016 opening ceremony of the European Capital of Culture in Poland.

We have scheduled our beginners and improvers classes back to back, so that as you progress in skill, technique and confidence, you can move through to our Improvers class to continue to develop your practice.
