Welcome to Our First Season in The Dance Space

Come dance with us!

After welcoming audiences and participants to our exciting new building for Our City Dances festival in July, we are now preparing to present our first full programme of classes and events.

A beginners Classical Indian Dance class at The Dance Space

From September, our brand new studios will play host to over 30 classes for different ages and abilities. We are working with teachers from a whole range of dance disciplines including salsa, contemporary, Indian, tango, movement classes for boys, pilates and more.

Some of the classes are directly curated by the team here at South East Dance (and will say ‘presented by South East Dance’ on their event pages) and many are brought to us by friends and partners (you will see ‘This class is provided by an independent teacher’ on the event page), ensuring we have a good mix of dance from the local area. We will be adding to these classes over time, so keep checking the What’s On page and contact us at studios@southeastdance.org.uk if you are interested in hiring our studios for your class.

Also this Autumn, we will be working with Cinecity, the University of Brighton and Worthing Theatres – as part of Brighton Film Festival – to stage our very first Brighton Screendance Festival. Taking place from Wednesday 16 - Saturday 19 November, these four days will celebrate the creativity and diversity of dance on screen. Tickets on sale soon.

For our nearest neighbours, those in the Tarner area, we are offering the chance to trial our new scheme The Welcome Card as an extension of The Welcome Project, which has been bringing dance to the Tarner community for the past four years. Limited free and discounted tickets are available to cardholders, so pop in and chat with our receptionist or call on 01273 696844 to find out more and sign up.
