The Welcome Project

The Welcome Project is a programme of activities and events designed to encourage more people to have a go at dance in the run up to the launch of The Dance Space.

With the help of a brilliant and committed Steering Group made up of people from all walks of life living and working in the Tarner neighbourhood surrounding The Dance Space, The Welcome Project takes dance to communities where they are.

From tea dances at Brooke Mead Extra Care Housing Scheme, dance classes at Puffin Nursery and Brighton Unemployed Centre Families Project, to pop-up workshops at Brighton Youth Centre we’re challenging perceptions of what dance is and who it’s for.

For more information about how to get involved with The Welcome Project, contact Emily at: creative.communities@southeastdance.org.uk

The Welcome Project is supported by Brighton & Hove City Council, The Chapman Charitable Trust and Legal & General plc.
