THE HEAT, a surreal dance theatre piece by Becky Namgauds, begins in the realm of the domestic space. As the landscape unravels, cracks appear, and through them seep the dark psyche, simmering desires, and moments of biting absurdity transforming the home into a dreamscape of tension and primal energy.

With striking physicality and moments of surreal humour, the dancers take audiences on a journey through an unflinching portrait of the wild forces just beneath the surface.

Before this show, Charlotte Spencer Projects present three artworks from We are all Memory Bodies - a collection of participatory pieces that explore our relationships between touch, memory and sensation in The Village Green at The Dance Space. Find out more here.

About Becky Namgauds

Rebecca Namgauds (She/ Her) is a multidisciplinary artist based in London, originally from the North of England, with over 10 years of experience in choreography, performance, and visual art across both live and digital spaces. Drawing on her background in contemporary dance and Capoeira, she explores feminist and ecofeminist themes, often engaging directly with nature and the landscape. Her work centers on intimacy, authenticity, and the feminine, with movement as her primary medium, though she also incorporates film, photography, performance art, and sound to deepen her explorations.
