My Mother Tongue is not my Lover Tongue

Please note, this event is included in the Undisciplined Festival Pass. For just £35 you gain access to all Undisciplined events taking place at The Dance Space, a £10 saving compared to buying each ticket individually.

Join us for a focused conversation with Fearghus Ó Conchúir, who brings his perceptions and choreography of queer sanctuary and the politics of embodiment to his creative practice. Invited to host a conversation about body, language and environment from a queer perspective, this conversation grows out of a project Fearghus is just beginning on minority language and ecology (Fearghus grew up in an Irish-speaking area) complicated by the recognition that he didn’t find a language for identity expression until he was studying in England in English.

Joined by two Undisciplined featured artists Dam van Huynh and Jules Cunningham, Fearghus will bring a queer geography and space perspective to this conversation, with the input of Dr Nick McGlynn, Senior Lecturer in Geography from the University of Brighton.

This event is BSL interpreted and relaxed.
