FEAST: A Triple Bill
Winners of the South East Dance Brighton Fringe Bursary, FEAST: A Triple Bill presents works by promising new choreographers after rave reviews from this year's Resolution Festival at The Place.
High energy dance, remarkable world building and clean partnering to dynamic soundtracks featuring Gorillaz, Nina Simone, Anna B Savage and more. Expect to laugh, cry and be moved by dance.
Giselle, this time it’s about me
Reimagining the classical ballet Giselle, Hebe Salmon (she/her) brings dark humour and a contemporary perspective to this tale of love and betrayal. A work where the female protagonist is not defined by relationships with men.
dog eat dog
Enter the world of the filthy rich with harrynsmithy’s dog eat dog. A playful, satirical duet which explores the upper echelons of society but what happens when they bite off more than they can chew?
SKUMO
SKUMO, by Orla Hardie (she/her) is a double act that delves into The Uncanny, that eerily familiar feeling. With a movement language inspired by animation and popping with texture, two clown-like characters teeter between despair and comedy, carving a window into the mangled unconscious.
The performance on 9 May will be followed by a 20 minute post-show talk.
The artists behind FEAST will also be presenting two professional classes at The Dance Space as they prepare for their performances. These are taking place at 1.30pm on Thursday 9 May and 4.30pm on Friday 10 May.
The classes will provide an insight to the movement language of the pieces featuring good vibes and good tunes. They will be inviting visual artists to observe the workshop and create as they dance.
Trigger warning: Some of the pieces in FEAST: A Triple Bill touch on mental health and suicide themes. Audience discretion is advised.
