Shared artist studio space
An opportunity for dance artists to come and work alongside each other in the Aldridge Community Space.
Affordable (£5 for a 3-hour session) and easy to book, our shared artist studio space offers a space for artists to develop practice, rehearse or train.
As a shared space, we invite artists to be mindful of different needs in the space – and also be open to a positive collision of practices.
This shared space is ideal for dance makers and practicing artists.
Friday 11 October will be a shared space for LGBTQI+ artists to work, move and learn within the queer community in a safe and accessible environment. We’re also keen to develop more shared studio spaces for under-represented groups of artists, so do get in touch if you have a suggestion for a focused shared-space.
Key info
Shared studio space is in it’s pilot phase – which means we’d love your feedback or thoughts, don’t hesitate to get in touch and share.
This is as much a space for working alone, as it is for small groups and those looking to collaborate.
We will offer 3 bookable places for each 3h session in the studio.
There is no maximum no of people per booking (IE a duet or trio rehearsing, can book one place), we trust artists to consider other users and only book for small groups.
Please keep talking to a considerate level so that others in the studio can focus and prioritise moving, making and their practice.
We suggest bringing ear pods or similar, if you have some music you’d like to use whist in the space – though we have a sound system available for use, should this be needed / feel appropriate.
Any questions; don’t hesitate to contact Linzi.whitton@southeastdance.org.uk
