Congratulations to our 2023 Brighton Fringe Bursary winner

The winner of our 2023 Brighton Fringe Bursary is community dance facilitator and choreographer Anna Des Clayes. The bursary will support Anna to present a new immersive live art event, involving people of all ages, at this year’s Brighton Fringe.

Anna Des Clayes.

Communi-ties from the Past is the result of a series of creative workshops and interviews with people living in the Bevendean and Moulsecoomb areas of Brighton & Hove. Created in collaboration with the Bevendean History Group, the piece explores the sense of community people living in the area have felt over time.

Combining dance, movement and personal stories, Communi-ties from the Past will take place at Brighton’s community pub, The Bevy.

Anna says: “With the help of South East Dance I’m very excited to bring to life a community project that I’ve been imagining since moving to the area of Bevendean in January 2020.”
