Performances

Are you looking for somewhere to present your performance or sharing? Our purpose built, state of the art performance space – The Jamie Watton Creation Space is available to artists, companies or community groups who would like to perform here at The Dance Space.

In the last few years we have hosted professional dance and theatre companies, local dance school showcases, community choirs and musicians, aerial and circus performers and many more. The space is flexible and we welcome a wide range of live activity.

Green Room

The Creation Space also comes with a beautiful green room space, complete with accessible toilet and shower, accessible kitchenette, fridge, microwave, sofa and hanging rails. It’s a great breakout or chill out space for artists and companies – who get sole use of this space throughout the hire. It also includes stage access for performers entering and exiting the space.

Hire costs

Prices start from £1450 for a 10h hire (approx. 12noon-10pm), which includes:

Get in, performance and get out
Two technicians for the day
Use of our lighting rig and sound system (projector comes at an additional cost
A dedicated event manager and front of house staff to run the show
Green room

Discounted rates are available for registered charities.

Ticketing

Companies usually manage their own ticket bookings for their hire performance and keep all of the income. In some instances, we can provide additional marketing support for your event via our website or socials.

Sharings or low/no-tech performances

We can also offer The Weston Research Space for low or no tech performances. You can hire the space, which can accommodate approx. 40 audience members (on a relaxed seating model – a mixture of chairs, beanbags, benches and cushions) for a more relaxed or informal performance / sharing.

The space offers blinds (for semi-black out), a sound system and mirror ball in the rig (every great performance includes a mirror ball, right?!).
