Vice-Chair of the Board of Trustees - Time Commitment

Trustees need to be able to give enough time to play a full role in discussions and decision making. This includes preparing for and attending Board meetings and awaydays and preparation for and attendance at sub-committee meetings if required. They are also encouraged to engage with South East Dance’s events and activities. The time commitment for the Vice-Chair is approximately equivalent to 10 days a year and includes:

• quarterly Board meetings, usually two hours taking place in the evening 
• Deputising for the Chair at Finance & Audit sub-committee meetings, which take place quarterly
• Board events including an annual away day and Board development training 
• attending South East Dance events including launches, key performances and screenings and fundraising events         

South East Dance is committed to working inclusively. We aim to meet Board members' access needs to enable them to engage fully. Meetings are held in-person at The Dance Space, which is an accessible building, with facilities for remote attendance also available.  Ongoing work is taking place to make Board papers and the way meetings are conducted more accessible.

Whilst this is an unpaid position, you will be reimbursed for reasonable expenses, including travel costs, access support costs and child care costs for attending Board meetings and other events.
