TONIGHT
Somewhere between durational text and very public meltdown, TONIGHT is a two-person monologue written four handedly. A hall-of-mirrors game where Bert and Nasi lay it all on the table. Each night, the same thing – and yet, never quite.
With a healthy amount of self-awareness and their patented brand of high grade, all-killer-no-ller surreal comedy- Bert and Nasi return to a stage near you to deconstruct the perilous, tight rope act of a show.
What begins as a starry eyed celebration of the beautiful possibilities of theatre, transforms into a hellish joyride. They seamlessly manœuvre us from one thought to the next, inviting us to lose all bearings and take our hands o the wheel.
Bertrand Lesca and Nasi Voutsas (Bert and Nasi) have being making work as a duo for 10 years. They are like the estranged love twins of David Lynch, Andy Kaufman, Bert and Ernie, and Buster Keaton. Something of their duo manages to be modern and new whilst evoking a dynamic that harks back to early beginnings of the great clowns.
TONIGHT is part of caravan assembly which is a three-day event that presents contemporary performance made in England to an audience of international programmers and collaborators. The performances are open to the public as part of Brighton Festival and sit alongside a series of industry conversations and discussions for those participating in the assembly. caravan assembly is delivered by Farnham Maltings in partnership with Brighton Festival.
Booking opens for Brighton Dome & Festival members on Thursday 19 February, with general booking available from Thursday 26 February.
