Annie's professional training class demonstrates a mixture of influences- spanning contemporary, improvisation, house and floor work. She embeds accessible practices in her movement approaches that encourage both care and rigor. You can expect improvisation tasks that focus on sensation, detail and moving sensitively, alongside technical material to play with and adapt.

About Annie

Annie Edwards is a dance artist from Brighton, now based in London. She currently works as a performer, researcher and facilitator in contemporary and hip-hop styles, alongside a collaborative choreography practise and training in house dance. She is a graduate from London Contemporary Dance School and has worked in the UK and internationally for companies like Candoco Dance Company, ZooNation, Boy Blue, Scottish Ballet, Thick and Tight and more. Her main artistic interests lie in improvisation, collaborative processes and disability advocacy.

Annie’s class is rooted in disability led practices and dance practitioners of all abilities are enthusiastically welcomed. For Deaf/hard of hearing participants we will use music and sometimes the movement material and sound will be in relation but not strictly.  The class will be centred on improvisation, so dancers are invited to translate and interpret as they need.
