Contact improvisation & partnering workshop

Robyn will offer participants ways in which to explore new approaches to contact and partnering work, expanding the possibilities of their dancing. Together we will:delve into the fundamental principles of the forms and learn a range of technical skills in and around trust, including weight share, being off-balance, momentum, rolling points, lifting and flying.

About Robyn (she/her)

Robyn is a freelance dance artist based on the South Coast of England. She graduated from London Contemporary Dance School in 2013 and has since accumulated over a decade of experience working as a portfolio artist. Her roles include performer, choreographer, facilitator, and producer, and she has collaborated with a wide range of artists and organisations such as Glyndebourne Opera, The Royal Opera House, East London Music Group, and Grov Productions.

Robyn is a founding member of Feet off the Ground, a female-led collective known for creating transformative, relatable outdoor dance productions that explore socio-political issues through a feminist lens. Together with the collective, she delivers classes workshops and intensives in contact improvisation and partner work and has choreographed commissioned pieces for Northern School of Contemporary Dance, The Place, and FABRIC's CAT programmes.

Robyn has taught at some of the UK’s leading conservatoires, including London Contemporary Dance School, Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance and London Studio Centre. Her international teaching experience includes working with the Norwegian contemporary dance company Carte Blanche, as well as leading professional dance classes for organisations such as PRODA and the Culture School in Norway. She has also taught professional classes at The Place, TripSpace, FABRIC, Chisenhale Dance Space and The Point.
