Lot’s Wife: A feminist reimagining of the biblical figure who looked back. Originally scheduled for stage in 2020, it premiered as a film during lockdown. This performance marks its long-awaited live debut. Includes original music by Carla Lucero.
Mr Greentree (My wish was my command): A multimedia solo work by Richard Bermange inspired by Austrian-Jewish cabaret artist and anti-fascist Fritz Grünbaum. Incorporating archival audio and sound design, Mr Greentree explores creativity and resistance. Premiered in New York in 2023. Includes original music.
Slant of the Earth: national premiere, choreographed by Marika Brussel. Slant of the Earth reinterprets the ancient tale of Abraham, his wife, Sarah, and their attendant Hagar. The ballet explores themes of familial conflict, weaving a narrative rich with deceit, jealousy, unfulfilled love, and the flickering promise of a new nation’s birth.

BalletMAR is a contemporary ballet company based in London that explores narratives through ballet theatre. Marika Brussel, co-director, is known for creating socially conscious and narrative-driven ballets.
Brussel combines classical ballet technique with contemporary themes, creating works that are both innovative and emotionally resonant. Her work has been commissioned by many companies in the USA and UK, including Sacramento Ballet, New English Ballet Theatre, Newport Contemporary Ballet, and Kansas City Ballet. Richard Bermange, co-director, a choreographer and rehearsal director, has had his work commissioned both in the UK and internationally. He created Swan Lake for The National Ballet of Ireland, as well as works for Ballet Central, London Studio Centre, and ENB Youth Ballet.
