Happy Feet Family Film & Tap Taster

Join us for a chilled screening of the animated classic Happy Feet, the heartwarming story of Mumble – a young penguin who can’t sing like the others in his colony, but who finds his own voice through the joy of tap dance. Bursting with music, humour, and dazzling dance numbers, this feel-good film celebrates difference, self-expression and the courage to be yourself.

After the film, littles ones and their grown-ups can take to the floor for a 20-minutes 'have a go' tap workshop inspired by Mumble’s unstoppable moves. No experience (or tap shoes!) needed – just energy and curiosity.

Ahead of the film, littles ones and their grown-ups can take to the floor for a 20-minutes “have a go” tap workshop led by the brilliant Ella Palmer and inspired by Mumble’s unstoppable moves. No experience (or tap shoes!) needed – just energy and curiosity.

A group of dancers cluster gently around the central figure, Hannah - a white person with Down syndrome - who gazes directly into the camera. The others surround her in a soft, intricate tangle: arms cradling heads, hands draped over shoulders, torsos leaning into one another with quiet connection. While the surrounding dancers look outwards or towards each other, Hannah’s steady gaze holds the lens. All wear flesh-toned clothing, blurring the lines between bodies.
