Gizelle's Bellydance

Please note: classes will be held on a Tuesday when there is a bank holiday.

Dance is a powerful way to come out of your mind space and into the body, letting go of control. Teacher Gizelle feels she is born to dance, with a passion for getting others moving into their body and out of their head. These sessions are designed to make you fall in love with bellydance and its grace, helping you let go whilst drilling the fundamental moves.

The origins of the dance are central to Gizelle’s teaching, honouring the sacredness of Raqs Sharqi (the dance of the east.) Bellydance began as a celebration of coming into womanhood, or falling pregnant, with woman coming together to express joy through movement of the hips and torso. Originating in the Arabian world – where, particularly in Egypt, it is still a cultural practice for bride and grooms to hire a bellydancer and take a picture with their hand on the dancer’s womb - bellydance is believed to help prepare the body for birth.

Intense yet available to absolute beginners, this class is aimed at all adult women of all experience levels. Whether you’ve come to perfect what you already know, or just starting your bellydance career, this is the class for you.

To book, please contact Gizelle via email at [javascript protected email address] or via Instagram at @noorandnaar. You must contact Gizelle for a briefing and to receive payment details, before the class.
