I'm sorry to disappoint you all
Two friends tangled together. Cocooned in their high rise flat and swallowed by the vastness of the city, an unravelling begins.
Dynamic contemporary dance unfolds against swirling projected landscapes, set to an eclectic, layered soundscore by composer Phoebe Coco.
Drawing on the duo’s shared mental health struggles and frustrations with the current climate for artists, I’m sorry to disappoint you all is a touching exploration of isolation, futility and the search for deeper connection. To close the performance, you are gently invited to step beneath the projections and into the soundscape to explore the work more closely for yourself.
Supported by South East Dance through our Fringe Roots programme and presented in partnership with Brighton Fringe.
About The 12th Floor
The duo met at Northern School of Contemporary Dance in 2017, later becoming flatmates on the 12th floor of a London high-rise. Drawing on their frustration with the current climate for artists, and their mental health struggles, they teamed up to create I’m sorry to disappoint you all, which premiered at London’s Resolution Festival in 2023.

Opportunity to join our performance
The 12th Floor are proud recipients of the South East Dance Fringe Roots Award. This package of support has been fundamental in enabling us to fulfil our aim of creating community and supporting other artists.
As part of our vision to bring artists together, we’ll be inviting local artists for a series of workshops to create a second, immersive half of the work with us. Our aim is to bring artists together and put our local community at the heart of the creative process.
