Contemporary ballet pop-up
Blending the structure of ballet and the freedom of contemporary dance, this open level class builds up strength, balance and grace to some catchy eclectic tunes. It introduces key principles of ballet technique in an accessible way, because ballet can be for everybody. Expect well-explained exercises, flowing choreography blending contemporary and ballet - and a great workout!
We start with a series of (barre-less) barre exercises in the centre to build core strength, progressing to movements that travel across the space, and a longer phrase. We focus on finding fluidity and enjoyment in movement rather than the perfect turnout.
Adults (18+) of all levels welcome, from seasoned practitioners to beginners with basic (not necessarily recent) experience of movement such as yoga or dance. This is a good vibes class focused on finding joy, challenge and growth in movement!
What to wear: Comfortable clothing that allows freedom of movement. Socks (or ballet slippers).
Spaces in the class can be booked up until the class start time.
