Beginners Contemporary
Please note, there is no class on 17 February.
Attending Aneta's classes feels like coming home to my body while simultaneously redefining the boundaries of what it can do and become.
Led by professional dancer, capoeira teacher, and choreographer Aneta Zwierzynska, this release-based contemporary class will start with an easy warm-up followed by an engaging series of exercises to increase body awareness and articulation, strength, coordination, and different movement qualities used in contemporary dance. The class will build towards longer movement phrases each week, developing your stamina and dance vocabulary, but most importantly, enjoying dancing. Recommended for beginners and those with less than two years of contemporary dance experience.
We have scheduled our Beginners and Improvers classes back-to-back, so that as you progress in skill, technique and confidence, you can move through the classes to continue to develop your practice.
This class is presented by South East Dance. Discounts are available for Welcome Card holders. Find out more about the Welcome Card here.
Due to safety and warm-up requirements, late arrivals (15+ minutes) will not be permitted.
Please note: Aneta's class will be led by Yael Flexer on 17 March, 2026.
