Beginner's Capoeira
Led by professional dancer and capoeira professor Aneta Zwierzynska, who has over 20 years of teaching experience in Brazil, the UK, and across Europe, these classes offer a welcoming and deeply informed approach to capoeira.
Aneta is a capoeira lecturer at several contemporary dance universities in London, bringing together professional practice, pedagogy, and academic insight.
Capoeira is a playful movement art that combines dance and fight, but in capoeira we say we play, not fight — it is a game between friends, where movement, creativity, and connection are key.
Aneta's approach is highly inclusive, empowering, and ethical, shaped by her role as an initiator of numerous social projects and her strong commitment to accessibility and care. She combines capoeira with extensive anatomical and movement knowledge — proudly an anatomy and movement nerd — supported by her work as a Pilates and Yoga teacher.
Classes are open to all, across mixed abilities, ages, genders, and backgrounds. Sessions are of moderate intensity, focusing on safe strengthening, personal self-expression, confidence-building, playfulness, and relational skills. Aneta is deeply passionate about delivering capoeira with minimal power domination, prioritising safety, sustainability, and joy in the body.
No fear — no previous experience is needed, and you don’t have to know how to go upside down!
