Free South East Dance Feldenkrais Class
To complement the wide range of online dance classes, we are offering free Feldenkrais classes taught by Feldenkrais Practitioner Lou Coleman. Expect to slow down, to listen and direct your awareness through movement. A Feldenkrais approach unites parts of the self to organise for better everyday functionality. The class will be an opportunity to rest, replenish and reboot.
Lou Coleman is an Experienced Practitioner on the London Professional Feldenkrais Training course and is fascinated by the sense of movement. Working in the dance sector for many years, Lou’s specialism has a focus towards inclusive & accessible arts practices. She is a member of the Feldenkrais Guild UK, with full insurance and has signed a code of ethics. Lou sat on the UK Board (2015-18) and is actively involved in the International Feldenkrais scene.

What you’ll need: A quiet place with enough floor space to lie down. A blanket or mat to lie and sit on. Your laptop or your phone with Zoom downloaded.
Access: Please contact Lou if you would like to discuss access needs. The class will be taught through verbal instructions, unfortunately BSL interpretation is not available. You’d You’ll be guided through a sequence of movements that works like a physical riddle. There are no demonstrations. Some classes will be done using your imagination and can be translated to a sitting or lying position. Lou can discuss the possibilities of the classes.

South East Dance strongly recommends that participants only take part in class if they are fit and healthy. As we can’t provide direct supervision in the same way as in person when in the same room, participants need to take care and not do any movement that they are not comfortable with, or feel is outside their ability.
