Artists Café #2: Supporting Artists During Lockdown

Our very first Artists Café event, designed to support dance artists to network, share experiences and come together at this difficult time, took place on 29 June – hosted beautifully by choreographer Charlotte Spencer.

We’re happy to announce that Artists Café # 2 will take place on Tuesday 28 July 10.30am-midday, hosted by Dance Artist, Choreographer and Creative Practitioner Anne Colvin – a long time friend of South East Dance who is also a member of our Welcome Project Steering Group.

We have commissioned six artists to host a series of six Artists Café events that take the form of free monthly informal get togethers on Zoom. In true relay fashion, each artist host chooses and passes the baton to the next. This month, Anne Colvin will be leading a discussion reflecting on where we are now as an arts sector, and rediscovering the core of what defines us individually in our physical and creative work. Anne says: “I’m taking inspiration from a piece of work I’ve been developing for some time – IMPRINT, which explores our relationship with nature and how connecting with our natural environments can provide fuel for our own self care.”
