Connect, move, dance, and laugh with Flexer & Sandiland every Wednesday from 27 May to 12 August.
With their latest dance show, Acting Our Age, placed on pause, Flexer & Sandiland are giving the joyful spirit of this inter-generational dance work life through a series of 12 online movement classes, supported by South East Dance and Arts Council England. These classes are designed for movers over the age of 55, but adults of all ages are welcome to join the group. The classes offer a space for us to reconnect with our bodies and with each other at a time when we are physically distant.
The sessions are grounded in Flexer & Sandiland’s creative approach: bringing awareness to our anatomy, using imagination and physical sensations to experience ease and pleasure in moving. Classes will lead you through gentle movement improvisations and may include simple exercises accessible to all.

Flexer & Sandiland are our current Align supported artists. Our Align programme, established in 2018, involves working closely with six mid-career artists over the next four years to support their capacity to take advantage of new opportunities, build their profile and develop new networks. Many artists who receive funding on a project by project basis struggle to maintain their practice without the infrastructure they need to be able to develop their creative ideas and take advantage of opportunities as they come up. Align seeks to address that by offering practical and financial support. Artist duo Yael Flexer & Nic Sandiland are the second artists to be invited onto the programme.
