Please note that the online application form will take approximately 40-45 minutes to complete. Therefore, please allow time to complete the full application form as it is not possible to save the form and return later. The list of questions is available below for your reference to allow you to prepare for completing the online application form.

Forms and administration

As part of the application process, groups and soloists will be required to provide a URL link to a video of their filmed dance piece.

Please complete the online equality & diversity monitoring form that is included in the application form. 

Selected groups and soloists will be required to confirm details about the piece, plus submit documentation/forms to the relevant event organiser: MÓTUS for JUMP START ‘27 or South East Dance for Making Waves

All supervising adults must have enhanced DBS checks. All groups must have a minimum of two supervising adults. Soloists must be accompanied by a DBS checked supervising adult.

About the group or soloist

U.Dance South East Regional Platform 2027 groups and soloists must be based in one of the following counties: Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, East Sussex, Hampshire & the Isle of Wight, Kent, Oxfordshire, Surrey or West Sussex

Where is the group or soloist based? Please provide the town/city, county and postcode

Which of the following best describes your setting? School group / sixth form college or further education setting / private dance school or academy / youth dance company or group / individuals / independent applicant applying on their own behalf / other.

How long has the group been working together? For soloists – how long have you been dancing and/or creating work?

About the dance piece

PLEASE NOTE: If your dance piece is selected for the U.Dance South East Regional Platform 2027, the piece detailed below MUST be the same piece presented on the day of the platform in April 2027. 

Title of piece

Please provide a brief (max. 100 words) description about your piece. These are notes for the panel to inform their viewing of your piece.
Include details such as: the inspiration and concept behind the piece and what the piece is about. Is this a complete piece or work in progress? 

Duration of piece (between 2 and 7 minutes)
If your piece is not complete, please give an estimated duration for the finished piece.

Choreographed by: dancers / group leader / invited choreographer / other 

Dance styles or genres included

Let us know when the piece was created and whether it has been performed before and, if so, how many times. (This can be approximate)

Title of music & composer/artist/musician

Submit film footage of your dance piece as a URL link to where the panel can view the piece online. 
If this is a private password protected link please include the password on the application form. 
This MUST be a URL link that is available to view online, NOT a downloadable file.

For groups applying to JUMP START ‘27 - you will be asked if you agree to South East Dance sharing your contact details and application form with event organiser, MÓTUS, if selected. YES/NO

Do you agree to us sharing your application form for performance opportunities with other organisations such as Dancin’ Oxford, South East Dance and MÓTUS? YES/NO

Regulation and Safeguarding Requirements

Group Leader / Chaperone details and Body of Persons Approval (BOPA)
This event will be covered by a BOPA. All groups and soloists must be accompanied by supervising adults with Enhanced DBS checks. The appropriate number of Licenced Chaperones are required for groups that are not part of an official school trip. 

You will be asked to confirm that you have read the guidelines and will meet the requirements if selected. 

You will be asked to confirm that you understand that all supervising adults will need to provide DBS details to event organisers. 

You will be asked whether the soloist or group includes dancers of compulsory school age. 

Public Liability Insurance

For the U.Dance Regional Platform in Brighton you will be asked whether you have Public Liability Insurance for working with your group.

U.Dance National Festival 2027
Details, dates and location of the U.Dance National Festival 2026 will be confirmed by One Dance UK in the coming weeks.

Along with the panel members have the final decision on all selected groups.
