Who Can Apply?
We welcome applications from soloists and groups in the south east region including from settings such as schools & colleges, those based in the community, private dance schools and those working independently.
U.Dance Regional platforms are for dancers aged 11 to 19 years, and up to 25 years for D/deaf and Disabled people and dancers with long-term health conditions.

We encourage individuals and groups who create dance pieces in all genres, such as commercial/street dance styles, ballet, South Asian dance, contemporary dance, dance of the African Diaspora, jazz dance, folk dance, you name it: U.Dance is for everyone!
To be eligible for a place in the U.Dance South East Regional Platform 2027 you will need to:
Only include dancers who, on 31 July 2027, are aged 11 to 19 years, or up to and including age 25 for D/deaf and Disabled people and dancers with long-term health conditions.
Submit a dance piece which is between 2 and 7 minutes in duration.
U.Dance South East Regional Platform groups & soloists must be based in the south east region and involve dancers who live in the south east region including the following counties: Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, East Sussex, Hampshire & the Isle of Wight, Kent, Oxfordshire, Surrey or West Sussex.
Maximum numbers of dancers:
JUMP START ‘27 in Milton Keynes on 17 April = maximum 30 dancers
Making Waves in Brighton on 18 April = maximum 20 dancers.
Submit a dance piece that has not been extensively showcased. The panel are looking for recent pieces that have either not been performed before or have only been shown a few times.
Return the completed application form, monitoring form and URL link to your dance film by the deadline date: 12noon, Wednesday 20 January 2027

Please note: This must be a URL link that is available to view online, NOT a downloadable file.
Helpful tips: The clearer the video is, if possible - filmed from the front with all dancers visible, the easier it will be for the panel to see the work. Please include footage of the dancers who will be at the U.Dance South East Regional Platform 2027 if selected.
Please submit dance pieces that are the finished version or are close to being completed.
Ensure your dancers are available to attend the U.Dance National Festival 2027 if selected.
