Who Can Apply?

We welcome applications from all groups including those that are run by schools, those that are based in the community, those who work with dancers who identify as D/disabled and D/deaf, those from private dance school settings and those working independently.

We encourage individuals and groups who create dance pieces in all genres, such as commercial/street dance styles, ballet, South Asian dance, contemporary dance, dance of the African Diaspora, jazz dance, folk dance, you name it: U.Dance is for everyone!
 

U.Dance Regional platforms are for dancers aged 11 to 19 years, and up to and including 25 years for dancers with disabilities or long-term health conditions. 
 

There is a small access support fund available for groups with dancers who identify as D/disabled or D/deaf selected for Let’s Dance Crawley featuring the U.Dance South East Regional Platform 2025. To be eligible for a place in the U.Dance South East Regional Platform 2025 you will need to:
 

  • Only include dancers who are aged 11 to 19 years, or up to and including age 25 for disabled dancers or those living with long-term health conditions, on 31 July 2025.
     
  • Submit a dance piece which is between 2 and 5 minutes in duration.
    However, we are open to conversations to consider pieces of a maximum of 7 minutes if it is impossible for your dance piece to be shorter. 
     
  • U.Dance South East Regional Platform groups must be based in the south east region and involve dancers who live in the south east region including: Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, East Sussex, Kent, Oxfordshire, Surrey and West Sussex.
     
  • Have a maximum of 25 dancers in your group. 
     
  • Submit a dance piece that has not been extensively showcased. The panel are looking for recent pieces that have either not been performed before or have only been shown a few times.
     
  • Return the completed application form, monitoring form and URL link to your dance film by the deadline date: 12noon, Friday 22 November 2024.
     
  • Submit a video of your dance piece via a URL link.  
     
  • Please note: This must be a URL link that is available to view online, NOT a downloadable file.
     
  • Please submit dance pieces that are the finished version, or close to being completed, or work in progress.
     
  • Ensure your dancers are available to attend the U.Dance National Festival 2025 if selected.
