Notice period: | 12 months Fixed Term with the intention of making this permanent if funds allow

Salary: £24,570 pro rata
PURPOSE OF POST
To work closely with the Programming team and the Head of Venue Hires to support the delivery and smooth running of South East Dance’s programme and events.
Key Tasks
- To work at all times to deliver and represent the mission, values and strategic aspirations of South East Dance as outlined on our website.
- To work closely with the Programming team and Head of Venue Hires to support their project management and administrative needs
- To support and deliver key projects as directed, ensuring targets and activities are delivered to a high standard
SPECIFIC TASKS
Project Support & Administration
- Project administration as directed i.e. support the drafting and sending of contracts, liaising with artists, arts organisations, partners and companies, compiling information for the communications team, filing, data entry and responding to emails.
- To support the team with evaluation, writing and reporting requirements in line with the needs of the funders and South East Dance.
- To undertake and assist with research that supports company activities.
- Support set-up and catering for external hires and events, artists residencies, curated classes, and performances
- To keep clear and consistent records and data relating to allocated projects, ensuring our space diary (Yesplan) and CRM (Monad) are kept up to date with detailed information
- To liaise with freelance artists, space hirers, staff and volunteers.
- To support the development of risk assessments, which standards of good practice are met, working to all legislation and company policy on equality, health and safety and safeguarding.
- Administration and in-class support (where appropriate) of our curated class and workshop programme
- Administration of our artist support sessions, call outs and artist opportunities
- Supporting the planning and delivery of in-house residencies, production weeks, performances and events
- To draft agendas and ensure minutes are recorded and distributed for meetings as directed.
Marketing and communications
- To liaise with Communications staff to create dynamic and relevant marketing materials, contribute to SED social and digital media, support copy writing for public facing activity and raise the profile of the programme of artistic, participatory and hires activity and South East Dance.
General duties applicable to all South East Dance staff
- Represent SED, its values and its work at all times
- Work within all legislation and company policy including Equality, Diversity & Inclusion, Safeguarding, Health & Safety and Environmental
- Be a Fire Warden and First Aider (training will be provided)
- Contribute actively to the overall activity of South East Dance, providing general assistance to colleagues as required
- Undertake any other tasks allocated by the Executive and Artistic Directors, Head of Programmes and Head of Venue Hires
- To undertake reception and Visitor and Events Support duties, including lunch and dinner cover as required
Person specification
Essential
- Experience of working with diverse communities
- Experience of supporting events at various scales, to a high standard – both artist and audience liaison.
- Ability and enthusiasm for working effectively in collaboration with peers and colleagues within the cultural sector
- Strong administration and computer skills with competence in Word, Excel and Outlook and SharePoint
- Strong time and workload management skills
- Project support skills: planning, scheduling, co-ordination of people, delivery and evaluation
- Commitment to Equal Opportunities, Anti-Racist and inclusive practices
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong and sensitive interpersonal skills to nurture and develop relationships
Desirable
- Knowledge of the dance sector in the UK
- Knowledge of the arts funding systems
- Knowledge of legislation and good practice around on Equality and Diversity, Safeguarding, Environmental Sustainability and Health and Safety
