Embodied Listening: Body, Relationship and Attunement in Psychotherapy
This is a programme of experiential workshops integrating Transactional Analysis and Dance Movement Therapy for psychotherapists, counsellors and students in training.
Dance Movement Therapy has its roots in the work of dancers who, while working in psychiatric settings, became interested in psychology and psychotherapy. In this context, dance means movement: the body in relationship, gesture, rhythm, posture, impulse, stillness and the ways in which our embodied experience informs therapeutic practice,
Across eight sessions, we will use movement to explore key Transactional Analysis concepts - not simply by thinking about them, but by experiencing them in the body.
The aim is to develop a more finely tuned awareness of what is happening within you, between you and your client, and within the therapeutic relationship.
The group will be intentionally small - a maximum of eight participants - to create a space that supports trust, personal exploration, reflection and experiential learning.
No dance experience is needed. The invitation is not to perform but to listen.
