May Festival offers for Artists

We are a Brighton Festival and Brighton Fringe venue again for 2024 and, in true South East Dance style, we’re finding more ways to support and connect artists across the festival season.

Discounted Rehearsal Space

We are offering a reduced rate on rehearsal studios at The Dance Space throughout May. From Wednesday 1 – Friday 31 May our studios will be available to hire at £12 per hour for unfunded artists performing in the festivals as well as artists who are in Brighton enjoying the festival season during May.

So whether you need some additional rehearsal time before opening your show or want to make some last minute tweaks to your work– join us at The Dance Space to use our state of the art facilities and enjoy a warm welcome from our brilliant team.

Performance Space

We have two spaces to choose from to hold your performances this May in The Dance Space. Fringe artists are already booking up our Jamie Watton Creation Space – a double height space with retractable ceiling that can seat up to 120 people - and our Weston Research Space – a light-filled flexible and accessible studio - to present their work.

Artist Workspace

We can also offer Artist Workspace at The Dance Space during May. We provide flexible hot desking and shared meeting space which is available for artists to use to catch up on emails, meet with other artists or have some down time during the festival. The Workspace is run on a donation basis and everybody is welcome - come and make The Dance Space your home throughout the May Festival.

Class

We run a great value programme of professional training and community dance classes here at The Dance Space. From Professional Contemporary class, to Pilates and from Musical Theatre Jazz to Commercial - come join us for class whilst you are here for the May season - you can find our timetable here

The detail:

Rehearsal studios are available to hire from 9am – 5pm Monday – Friday throughout May (with limited evening availability), based on a minimum 3 hour booking.

The Artist Workspace is available from 10am – 5.30pm Monday to Friday (Subject to availability) suggested donation £3 for half a day, £6 for a full day.
