Announcing our 2025 Brighton Fringe Bursary winner
Camille Cooper is our Brighton Fringe Bursary winner for 2025 and, with our support, will be premiering her new work Decadence, Desire & Decapitation at Brighton Fringe this May.
Camille describes herself as: "a queer, female dance artist producing work that is daring and unapologetic in its message and aesthetic".
Having spent 10 years competing in Ballroom and Latin dance, Camille's work blends the styling, technique and rhythm of these forms with contemporary dance.
Her new work Decadence, Desire & Decapitation is a double bill inspired by Oscar Wilde's Salome, as well as the play's iconic illustrations by Brighton local Aubrey Beardsley.
"Both Wilde and Beardsley's reputations were destroyed due to their sexuality being questioned by society. As a queer artist, I am sharing these pieces to celebrate their work, reimagining it with a unique and exhilarating modern twist."
The venue and dates for Camille's performance will be announced soon.Congratulations Camille.
