What is our city dances?

Our City Dances is a family-friendly fun day outside The Dance Space. There will be activities for all ages. Above is a photo from last year’s event.

How much is this event?

This event is completely free. You can turn up and just enjoy the atmosphere or take part in the workshops throughout the day at no cost.

Where is it?

Our City Dances will take place outside The Dance Space, 2 Market Square, Circus Street, Brighton, BN2 9AS.

Most of the workshops and performances will take place on the concrete outside the building apart from the final performance which will be in the Aldridge studio with the bi-fold doors open (so you can view it from outside).

On the grass, seen in the photo, there will be some giant games and space for you to sit and relax through the day.

The back of The Ground Floor

Here you can see what is in the back half of the ground floor after the welcome desk.

There is:

  • A free water station
  • Toilets, accessible toilet and baby change
  • 2 changing rooms which can also be used for a quiet space. Please use these rooms if you need a quiet space for instance, if you become overstimulated or if you would like to breast feed in private
Standing next to the lift, the image shows the back half of the ground level of The Dance Space which is a corridor. Looking on the left hand side, the first door leads to the toilets, further on the left there is a water station, some large plants, the accessible toilet and baby changing. At the end of the corridor is the fire exit. Looking on the right hand side, there are chairs and a notice board, then behind that two changing rooms.
