EVOLVE Dance Collective
EVOLVE Dance Collective is a new partnership between industry professionals and South East Dance, designed to diversify the dance sector by championing non-traditional routes into dance education. Apply by 2 September.
Created for young people aged 16-20 years who are looking for an alternative to traditional forms of dance education, EVOLVE Dance Collective is a year-long advanced training course with leading dance artists and choreographers.
Taking place weekly on Saturday afternoons at The Dance Space from September 2023-July 2024, EVOLVE Dance Collective provides a nurturing environment in which young people are encouraged to explore their full potential as dancers. Dance training is in a variety of styles, including hip-hop and contemporary fusion, and includes modules on:
- Developing your individual identity as a dancer
- Creating your own work as a dance artist
- How to navigate the professional dance world
- How to access professional performance opportunities
The training cost is £25 per week and bursary places are available.
