Join dance artist, activist, writer and model Valerie Ebuwa for a professional dance class in improvisation, followed by a discussion exploring fresh perspectives on navigating the dance industry.

Originally from East London, Valerie started her dance training at Lewisham College before obtaining a degree from London Contemporary Dance School. Amongst others, Valerie has recently worked with Vincent Dance Theatre, Clod Ensemble, Eddie Peake, Protein Dance, Holly Blakey, Michael Douglas Kollektiv and Compagnie Thor. As a maker, she has choreographed and created Body Data, CTRL+V, ValUE and Down Bad/ How do you wanna go out? Valerie writes for I am Hip Hop magazine; a printed and online publication championing Hip Hop culture and her written work has been featured in Crack Magazine, i-D, The Earth Issue and Glass Magazine.

We are offering three bursaries of £75 for this class to artists under the age of 23 who need financial assistance to attend. If you have recently graduated from a dance course please also let us know which course and the year you graduated. We are particularly keen to receive applications from diverse and under-represented communities. The deadline to apply for a bursary for this class is February 15 and you will be notified if you have been successful on February 16.
