Mind The Gap is a free programme of events offering advice on everything you need to know to start building your career in dance.
Join performer and choreographer Sarah Golding for a dynamic professional dance class focusing on rhythm in contemporary dance, followed by a session in which you’ll learn a section of repertoire. Sarah will then discuss her journey into the dance industry since graduating and how she has developed her style, interests and career.
Sarah Golding began her dance training at the Miskin Theatre before attending Trinity Laban and receiving a BA and MA in dance performance (Transitions Dance Company). Sarah then became a dancer with Lîla Dance in 2014 touring nationally and rurally. Sarah has performed for theatre companies and choreographers including the Royal Court, Bang Bang Bang group, Darcy Wallace, Quang Kien Van, Cathy Waller, Adam Russell and most recently with the world touring cast of STOMP. Sarah often teaches her dynamic and rhythmical class to professionals and companies including Stopgap, NDCWales, Lila Dance and Balletboyz.
“Musicality is something I always explore in each piece of work I create – this is hugely influenced by my time at STOMP and learning different forms of percussion. I enjoy shamelessly using music as a starting point and unapologetically dropping when the beat drops.”
