The University of Chichester performance company mapdance, brings together 14 dancers, three newly commissioned dance works and a restaging of Sarah Golding's STATE from 2022. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience dynamic, theatrical and beautifully crafted work by both established and emerging choreographers.

Thought in the Dark by Carrie Whitaker

Thought in the Dark grapples with the untamed spirit of individuality, alongside the compelling force to reshape ourselves in pursuit of unity. Each step, each gesture, becomes a brushstroke, painting a visceral portrait of the dance between order and chaos, following the crowd or pursuing new thinking.

STATE by Sarah Golding

Originally created for mapdance 22, STATE is rooted in the relationship between music and dance, exploring different ways to translate music into and out of the body.

Dear Body by Renaud Wiser

A celebration of the body, Dear Body is an ode to its animalistic form, its pride, fragilities and expressiveness. In a context where humans are drawn to the virtual and the immaterial, the work delves into our materiality, focusing on immaculate craft and physical energy.

For Seasons by Yukiko Masui

A contemporary take on Vivaldi, Masui’s For Seasons celebrates the seasons with a global music palette, creating our distinct version of the original Four Seasons: a dance concerto.

Presented in partnership with The University of Chichester.
