CHILDREN & THEIR GROWN-UPS Showcase

We are proud to be one of the six national partners working with Pavilion Dance South West on their industry-focused CHILDREN & THEIR GROWN-UPS .

As part of this dance-based showcase, two new works for children under five by two dance artists who we’ve been supporting through our pioneering Little Big Dance programme will be presented alongside a panel discussion about how to make dance work for younger audiences.

On Wednesday 29 Sept 2-3pm, Little Big Dance artist Takeshi Matsumoto will present his new work Club Origami, an immersive and interactive dance show inviting family audiences to create, imagine and explore whole new ways of thinking, playing and moving. Dance, fashion and live music meet the magic of origami to sweep us up on a spirited and inspiring adventure in a land made purely of paper and play.

The early years panel discussion takes place 10.30-11.30am on Thursday 30 Sept, Chaired by Dr Angela Pickard with a panel of specialists who have been brought together by our Little Big Dance programme, including artists Takeshi Matsumoto and George Fellows; and early years specialists Skye Reynolds and Hannah Lefeuvre.

On Thursday 30 Sept 2-3pm Beeja Dance, choreographed by Anusha Subramanyam, invite you to join them for a delightful train journey through India, with their new piece Choogh Choogh! Experience the sights, sounds and smells evoked through South Asian dance, music and theatre; and meet some amazing characters along the way.
