The Place Partnership Programme in Sussex

In 2018 South East Dance continued working in collaboration with The Place, the UK’s premiere centre for dance, to deliver the final year of the Sussex Partnership Programme for young people aged 12-15 years.

The scheme partnered with The Place’s Centre for Advanced Training (CAT). It offered young people who show exceptional ability and potential in dance the chance to receive training from highly experienced professionals. Successful applicants benefited from a six-month course which included a weekly contemporary provision, creative workshops, masterclasses and performance opportunities in the region and at The Place.

NOTE: The programme was formerly known as Brighton Centre for Advanced Training (CAT) satellite scheme.

“I have loved the CAT scheme, the teachers have helped me so much and I can already tell that I have come on over the past six months. I have had constant feedback which has helped me to continuously improve and I have loved performing at events!”
