Our City Dances 2019 - Event Application

Our City Dances returns this summer. We are looking for artists and performers who would like to submit a creative idea to be considered as part of the programme for this year’s festival.

Our City Dances is a 2 day fun, free, family friendly summer dance festival.

We presented our first Our City Dances Festival in July 2018 which was a roaring success and engaged 1591 people over 2 days of dance performances, workshops, discussions and installations across Brighton.

Each year the festival is programmed collaboratively with our Community Steering Group – made up of 12 people who live or work in the Tarner area of Brighton. The group meet monthly to discuss all aspects of the festival from programming to marketing, and help us deliver the festival when it arrives.

Last year’s festival saw a diverse range of activity and a LOT of fun. It was a packed weekend of celebratory, heart-warming, brilliant dance.

To apply for the chance to be part of the 2019 festival weekend on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 June, please complete the online application form, by 12 noon on 27 February 2019. We welcome applications from BAME and disabled artists.

Please include all relevant details but also please keep your description concise and clear.

IMPORTANT: Most performance/event spaces will be non-theatre, low-tech venues i.e. community centres, parks.

We will inform you if you have been selected by the end of March 2019.
