U.Dance 2017: HOSTED

The Old Market, Hove
11a Upper Market Street
Hove, BN3 1AS

Sunday 26 March, 3pm (doors 2.45pm)

A celebration of the work of local youth dance groups, PENNY & JULES DANCE are working with South East Dance to present the U.Dance 2017 South East Regional Selection as part of Hosted.

PENNY & JULES DANCE was created by Lisa Gillam and Kate Szkolar, who are delighted to be artists in residence at Brighton & Hove High School (BHHS). With the support of BHHS, Lisa and Kate launched PENNY & JULES YOUTH DANCE in 2014. Their aim was to create a supportive and exciting environment in which already talented dancers could build skill, confidence and connections. They've since gone on to perform at various events, including Brighton Fringe and U.Dance 2015's national platform.

HOSTED is a chance to celebrate the work of local youth dance groups by bringing together the latest pieces from PENNY & JULES YOUTH DANCE and their talented peers. This year they will be working in partnership with South East Dance and welcoming groups from across the region who will perform in a bid to win a place at the National U.Dance festival in Birmingham this July. HOSTED and the U.Dance 2017 South East Regional Selection is a partnership event between South East Dance, PENNY & JULES DANCE, Brighton and Hove High School and One Dance UK.
