The Welcome Project

The Welcome Project

Various venues across Brighton

September - December 2017

As part of The Welcome Project we are delighted to have received funding from Esmée Fairbairn Foundation for an ambitious programme that will provide opportunities for local communities in Tarner, Queens Park and surrounding areas to engage with dance.

We will be working with Brooke Mead extra care unit for older adults living with Dementia, Brighton Unemployed Centre Families Project, Brighton Youth Centre and Puffin Nursery as well as other community organisations to bring our community together with exceptional artists from across the region and beyond. We will also be developing a community steering group, a new volunteering programme, a number of artist-in-residence projects and an exciting new annual community-curated dance festival, Our City Dances in July 2018.

We are about to embark on our first Open Doors Dance Sessions for this project, click here to find out where there is a session happening near you.
